I've been banging my head for over a day trying to get their ears right. I'm just having a hard time telling exactly how the scaling translates into 3D.

XD Unfortunately, I DO know who "YOU" is! Hmm, well, from where I'm standing (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of reach of flying clay on the OTHER side of the Atlantic ) the profile looks just right. 
VERY like my style! 
But yeah, I think I can see where you've been having difficulties (I blame Will, seeing as it's HIS head XD ) But what I normally do, is that I look at photographic references if I'm stuck on anything like this. In fact, I've been trying to find something that might help but alas...none I've found have been much use... 
But, you know what? It looks absolutely fine to me.
Keep it up! Or I'll demand mah money back!
