Dad's Wire Tree 1-1 by BlackHoleInAJar Dad's Wire Tree 1-1 by BlackHoleInAJar
I DID NOT MAKE THIS. This is one of my dad's wire trees. He's made quite a few of them over the years, all of them really cool, and this is his most resent one. I just wanted to see what everyone on here thought about it.:) He's thinking about selling it, either on the eBay or Etsy. For how much, I don't know yet, it depends on how much interest is shown. If anyone would be interested in purchasing this, just ask!

It's 18in tall, 21in wide and 10in deep. The base is made of a found piece of river drift wood and the tree is made of steel wire.

Nice!  Does he sell any of his stuff?  I think you could put this up at an art show and make money off of it.

We've been telling him to do that for years! :XD:
The thing is he can't really make enough to do an art show, at least not like the ones that go on around here.  Like I said, his wrists, and they involve a lot of twisting and wrenching around.
But he has made quite a few already.  I should talk to him again about picking a few to sell.

Could always enter an art auction.  A lot of conventions do that, though I think some may choose to do them for charity.  You'd want to check first before entering one.

I love how organic the tree feels, like it's caught in a terrible storm. And the use of the metal vs wood was brilliant!  Your dad did great job, I could definitely see this as a home decor piece.

O.O Oh wow, your Dad did this? It's stunning! :wow: I adore the movement in the narled branches flowing in the breath of a tempest before the beast set's itself upon it.

This is wonderful work, it truly is. I'd love to buy one, except I wouldn't know where to put it to keep it safe... ^^; I'm positive he'd find a buyer, infact I'd say I'm almost certain he;s find a buyer on either of those sites. Heck, if I give my place a good tidy, I'm sure I could find a home for one in a cabinet somewhere safe from dust. :aww:

Hehe, I see where you get your talent from Harry, tell your Dad I'll see what I can do. :)

Ooh! Btw, SO :+fav:'ed

You're really interested in this? Cool!
But there's one small thing: shipping.:( You read how big this is, right? This isn't a little desk-top piece (though he has and does make those), this is the BIGGEST tree he's made. It doesn't weigh much but it would take a pretty dang big box to ship it. And I don't think I need to remind you about the perils of overseas shipping. Although, this would be much easier to pack and ship than the topper and would be less likely to get damaged.

Whoever ends up buying this or any tree, it's gonna take some planning on how to get it to them.

That's an excellent tree / sculpture. I'd put it among the best that I've seen on Etsy and eBay.
Good photography, too.

I know, there's a whole mess of them on Etsy but for some reason none that look quite like his.
Thank you, from the both of us!

Most wiretrees I saw wereŽnt half as realistic as this one; I can feel the storm hunting trough its branches!
